What is introvert personality! It means, a person with qualities of a personality type known as introversion. Which means that they feel more comfortable which focuses on their own inner thoughts and ideas. Rather than what’s happening externally. Also they enjoy spending time by themselves or with one or two people rather than large groups or crowds.

What does it mean to be an introvert personality?

The most common definition of an introvert is someone who gets drained in socializing and recharges being with self. But there is so much more than that in introversion.

Each and everyone is born with an innate temperament – it is a way to gain energy and prefer to interact with the world. Introversion and extroversion are called temperaments you’re an extrovert or introvert is decided by your genes – that means you were probably born that way. 

However we’re also shaped by our life experiences. If your quiet thoughtful ways were encouraged by your parents, teachers, colleagues and other people then you’d probably grow up feeling confident in who you are and how you are built naturally. 

But like many other introverts you were teased, bullied or told to come out of your comfort area or shell then you may have developed social anxiety. You ever felt that you have to pretend to be someone you’re not. 

Some common traits of introvert personality:

Some introvert traits seem to be generally accepted. And others are a result of the culture we live in. Like many introverts have coped up with constant overstimulation by putting up a wall around. This leads people to believe that introverts are cold and unfriendly, which is not the true personality of introvert. The natural qualities that most introverts share are love for the examination, a need for a alone situation and a slower, more deep and focused communication skills and style.

Many of the people don’t understand what it means to be introvert. They measure introversion with shyness, anxiety and depression. When introverts go quiet many people often misunderstand it with being stuck up, angry or disinterested, and if introvert spend time alone they’ve been accused of being selfish or anti-social. 

Truth behind some worst stereotypes for introvert personality:
1. Introverts are not necessarily socially awkward.

Just like shyness, social awkwardness is a separate trait from introversion. Many introverts can actually be quite charismatic in social situations. 

2. Introverts don’t hate people.

A lack of chitchat in introvert personalities is often misinterpreted. Many people take it as a sign that a person with introvert personality doesn’t like others. And the truth is opposite of that. A person with introvert personality often likes to avoid small talk because it is considered to be inauthentic. 

3. Introverts are not rude.

Yes if an introvert is completely out of social energy, then we might start getting a little crabby or simply zone out. But we’re not trying to be rude and we’ll be a lot more friendly if you give us sometime to recharge alone.
